How to Score Champion Points towards Dog of the YearAll BDC Current Members who participate in fully sanctioned or co-sanctioned events are eligible for BDC Champion Points. Event Champion Points "Basics" BDC Champion points for National qualifying events are awarded as follows to the top 3 placing dogs: *All fully-sanctioned event stakes with 20 different dogs, 30 entries, or 40 runs are considered BDC National Major Championship Event Stakes. *Some National Major Championships are "declared" as such by the Bird Dog Challenge. *If a "Declared Major" does not meet the criteria of 20 different dogs, 30 entries, or 40 runs then only 1/2 champion points are awarded in the stake. *All National Super Major Championships are declared as such by the Bird Dog Challenge. **However, if a Super Major stake does not include 20 different dogs, 30 entries, or 40 runs then 1/2 champion points are awarded per placement for the top 5 dogs. Day Points Championship Day points are awarded to the top 3 placements in Two-Day/Two-Event Tournaments that become Majors based on the criteria of 20 different dogs, 30 entries, or 40 runs. The BDC will not allow a Two-Day/Two-Event National Major Championship. If their are more than 20 different dogs, 30 entries, or 40 runs each day, the BDC will recognize the event as single National Major Championship. Day points will be given to the top 3 placements each day, with the overall top 5 dogs receiving the Major points. |
