BDC Race to the Chase

Welcome to the Bird Dog Challenge "Race to the Chase" and "Road Warrior" website which will include Pointing and Flushing Dog of the Year Races updated bi-weekly throughout the year. All events that are sanctioned by the Bird Dog Challenge will be e-mailed or mailed to Beckie Sojka at tournamenthunter@frontiernet.net or 32 County Road 30 SW, Montrose, MN 55363 within 7 days of event conclusion.

The BDC "Race for the Chase" is an accumulation of a dog's champion points from Top Gun Main Event and Doubles Event Stakes throughout a competition year (January 1st - December 31st).

THE RACE

All BDC current member's dogs are eligible to participate in the "RACE to the CHASE".

The "RACE" begins on January 1st of the New Year and is an accumulation of a dog's BDC Champion Points for that competition season. BDC Champion Points for the Dog of the Year are earned from Top Gun Main Event and Doubles Event Stakes. The Top 25 Dogs from the "RACE" portion of the competition earn entry qualification into the "CHASE" portion which starts on January 1st of the following competition year.

THE CHASE

The "CHASE"starts on January 1st of each competition year, and runs through the conclusion of the BDC National Championships in March of that year. The Top 25 qualified dog's points from the "RACE"portion of the competition will be zeroed on January 1st of the new year and the 3-month "CHASE" begins.

The qualified Pointing Dog and Flushing Dog with the most Champion Points earned from Top Gun Main Event and Doubles Event stakes at the conclusion of the BDC National Championships in March, will earn the title of "Bird Dog Challenge Dog of the Year".

New for 2009 - "Road Warrior" Award

This award will be presented to the dog that earns the most qualifying points throughout the competition year which begins January 1st and runs through December 31st.
